International Conference on Semiconductor Materials and Optics 2008

Proceedings of SMMO 2008 will appear as regular articles in the Central European Journal of Physics (CEJP) after having undergone the journal's regular refereeing process. Preprints of proceedings articles will be freely available online to all conference participants through the arXiv.org e-print archive.

Submission of Proceedings Manuscripts:

Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Submission of manuscripts in LaTeX format is highly preferred. A LaTeX2e macro package and article template serving as paper writing guide are provided on the journal's home page, along with general instructions for authors.

If you cannot provide manuscripts in either LaTeX or DOCX (generated by Microsoft Office 2007) format, choose one of the other formats supported by CEJP and convert them to PDF or Postscript. Upload the PDF or PS file to the arXiv server. Later in the process you will be able to add the original file (as supported by CEJP) to the submission. Formats supported by CEJP besides LaTeX are MS Word (97 or higher) either as standard DOCUMENT (.doc) or RICH TEXT FORMAT (.rtf), TXT or HTML.

No specific page limits apply to SMMO proceedings submissions. Instead, the length should be appropriate for the content as for any other CEJP article. Authors of invited SMMO presentations are asked to submit review articles.

Please upload your SMMO proceedings manuscript to the arXiv.org e-Print archive following their directions for arXiv e-print submissions before starting the submission process at CEJP. You will need the arXiv e-print number for submission at CEJP.

Submit your SMMO proceedings manuscript to CEJP at http://www.editorialmanager.com/cejp/. You will have to register following the link on the website. (If you are already registered as a CEJP referee, you can log in using that account and change your role to "author" at the top of the page). Log in as author, click "Submit New Manuscript" in the main menu and select "SMMO2008 paper" from the list of article types that appears. The system will guide you through the submission process and collect the relevant information about the article.

Once you have reached the "Attach Files" stage, please do not send your files again. Instead, enter the previously obtained arXiv.org e-print number into the "arXiv File Name:" box at the bottom of the page. Click the "Attach This File" box below it. CEJP will then obtain the manuscript and figure files directly from the arXiv.org server. In the list of files that appears, mark each item as "Manuscript" or "Figure" as appropriate, enter a short description, and make sure that the order of figure files matches the order in the paper. Click "update File Order" when done.

If your arXiv.org submission was in PDF or PS format (instead of LaTeX or DOCX format), mark the manuscript file as "Supporting Info" and upload the original files using the "Attach Files" mechanism at the top of the page.

Complete the submission following the steps on the website. Deadline for SMMO proceedings submission is December 29, 2008. Once submitted, please email the arXiv e-print number to info@smmo.org so that we can prepare a list of SMMO proceedings papers to be sent to all conference participants.

Manuscripts will undergo normal CEJP refereeing, requiring at least two referees. Should a revision of the manuscript be required, authors will need to complete it within 28 days (14 days for subsequent repeated revisions). Please try to avoid the necessity of multiple revisions so that all SMMO proceedings can appear together.

SMMO proceedings manuscripts will appear in CEJP with a footnote indicating they were presented at SMMO 2008.
